Katelyn & Markie - senior pics

Monday, August 31st, 2009

Yesterday Katelyn and Markie rocked downtown Minneapolis with me…. Katelyn is Adrienne’s sister, so it was fun to see the family again!

This is Katelyn….

… and this is Markie! My word… if I were half as gorgeous as either of these two… so not fair! :)

I think I like doing senior pictures this way. We did one extra long session together, which is nice because it feels more like hanging out - and pictures just sorta happen. :) It’s also nice to have a group there to brainstorm and discuss each setting & pose!

Thanks Katelyn and Markie (and families!!!) So great to hang out with you all!

Meredith and Eli

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

This is Meredith and Eli.  The amazing thing about these two - is that they are a brother and sister who, when I asked “So what do you like doing?” responded by saying they like to hang out with each other!  I know I wasn’t like this when I was a kid. ;)  Lucky them!!!

Doesn’t Meredith have the most gorgeous eyes?  My husband has blue eyes… I hope our kids inherit it!!

img_4669

I love this smile!  I have some other more relaxed traditional portraits to edit… but I like this as it’s a very natural pose.  Like he’s about to start giggling! :)

These two were such great models.  I could tell they’ve been photographed before.  They were naturals! (I hardly had to do anything - they just knew what to do!)

Why not extend my ’shoe shot’ to kids portraits??

What a wonderful evening.  Thanks to the whole family (Joy, Fred, Meredith, and Eli) for hanging out with me!

Kerry + Nate - wedding

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

Friday was Kerry and Nate’s wedding at St. Jude of the Lake Church in Mahtomedi.  The weather and the day could not have been more PERFECT!

img_1628

We did the ‘first look’ just before formals and the ceremony.  I like how you can see people behind them looking and taking pictures. :)

The flowers smelled so good!

img_2282

These are my favorite types of pictures that happen during formals… the moments between the poses.

img_1849

This group was probably one of the most lively and fun groups I’ve worked with… can you tell? :)   (PS - notice Cortney in this picture… I did her engagement pictures and shot 2nd at her wedding last November!)

We shot a few portraits before the ceremony…

One of my favorite things was her shoes… I love it when brides do a pop of color in the shoes.  This is Kerry’s favorite color.  She had these shoes picked out before the bridesmaids dresses. :)

These two had their vows memorized from start to finish.  I (and other guests I heard talking) really loved this.

Then off to Midland Hills Country Club in Roseville for the reception.  Portraits during best weather in August with the best possible lighting a photographer could ask for?  Yes please!

See?  Fun group!!

These two love to golf and were engaged at golf course… the setting is perfect!

Kerry’s dress made for some awesome shots… the layer ’swoops’ in the dress are awesome.

Dear bridesmaid:  I admit don’t remember your name, but you are awesome.  Seriously- you are incredibly fun and are what WPJA photojournalist awards are made of.  Can you be a bridesmaid in all of my other weddings?! ;)

….  so excited to get that boquet!

The bride and her mother bustin’ a move!

Thank you Kerry and Nate for inviting me to be part of your wedding.  It was PERFECT!
