Last Friday I had a session in downtown Minneapolis, on St. Anthony main. I decided to arrive an hour early so I could sit, relax, and have my morning cup of coffee at the Aster Café. When I arrived I found the coffee shop was closed for a month for spring cleaning. Now what was I going to do?! I grumbled to myself, and then did next necessary thing - posted cry for empathy on facebook. I had an entire hour to kill, and nothing to do… ARGHHHghghghghghghh! As one of the employees was arriving to work at the theater next door, I asked him where to find my morning caffeine. While he wasn’t sure, he suggested I try walking a few blocks east. So off I went.
As I was walking I passed by a beautiful Catholic church… and then noticed this.

Spring is coming! I had been so wrapped up in my own world lately, that somehow I had hardly noticed it. I delayed my hunt for coffee, and spent some time by myself, photographing, thinking, and absorbing all things green.

By the time I was done photographing, I was refreshed, energized for the day, and felt a sense of peace. It was just what I needed.

But don’t worry. A cup of coffee was waiting for me at the end of my journey. :)
