Last weekend I met Terra and John in Stillwater for their engagement session.  Super cute couple - see for yourself! :)

This shot was taken almost exactly the pace where John proposed to Terra.  I love shooting engagement sessions in places that are significant.

I always strategically schedule sessions to start around 6:30, so by the time it’s wrapping up we have sunset to work with.  Half way through our session, the clouds came out and took away the sunlight.  We drove into the country a little bit - and stumbled upon a place filled with purple flowers along side of the road.  I wanted sunbeams- but got a field of flowers.  An fair trade I say!  :)

Thank you so much you two - enjoy the rest of your summer!!

Eric and Amy

I met Eric and Amy in downtown St. Paul for their engagement session.  I’ve photographed in downtown St. Paul several times, and I liked that we were able to make this session unique from my others, and concentrated on places that had significance to them.  I love the colors they chose for outfits - matched the outdoor setting perfectly!

Eric and Amy love coffee (as do I!)  We made a pit-stop at Starbucks and had to take a few photos.

Some photos in rice park…

Next stop was the Orpheum Theater, where they had their first date!

… and this is Rice Park again - almost in the exact spot where Eric proposed to Amy! :)

Heidi & Tim

This is Heidi and Tim… I’d love to tell you how they met - because it’s an AMAZING story.  However, I’m going to save it for their wedding blog post. :)  They are morning people and love to be outdoors, so we scheduled our engagement session to start at 6:30 a.m. at Como Park.  I have to say - I’m not a morning person but maybe I need to become one.  It was incredibly beautiful, the light, the dew on the grass… and so peaceful.  We had the whole place to ourselves. :)

These two are as happy as they look.  They are just joyful… full of energy, and fun.

If you’ve ever had a session with me, I frequently talk about “eye-sparkles” (… you know, ‘catch lights’… but I like the term ‘eye-sparkles’ better). :)  They had very good eye sparkles this morning.

I always say - hug like you mean it.  And they do.
